Since the arrival of our bees on the farm here in Windermere, I have become increasingly inspired to share and celebrate all things bees.

This hands-on workshop is a relaxed, creative experience focused on one of their most beautiful natural products — beeswax.

Set in our Lakeland stone barn on the farm, this 3-hour workshop offers a calm and inspiring space to learn, create, and enjoy time working with natural materials.

We will begin by exploring how bees produce and use beeswax within the hive, before moving on to the practical candle-making session.

You will create both rolled and poured beeswax candles, and have the opportunity to decorate them using a selection of natural craft materials and home-grown dried flowers from the farm. Each piece can be customised to your own style, making your creations completely unique.

During the workshop we will take a short break to enjoy hot drinks, home-grown herbal teas, and homemade biscuits.

This is a fully hands-on experience suitable for beginners, and no previous candle-making experience is needed.

All materials are provided.

We recommend bringing an apron to protect clothing from any wax splashes.

By the end of the workshop, you will leave with a collection of hand-made beeswax candles and a new appreciation for the role bees play in our natural environment.
