As winter settles over the farm here in the Lake District, the barn is filled with the warm glow and scent of beeswax, herbs, and seasonal botanicals, and mulled wine.

This Christmas Beeswax Candle Workshop is a relaxed, creative 3-hour experience designed to slow the pace of the season and enjoy a few peaceful hours making traditional beeswax candles by hand.

Set in our Lakeland stone barn near Windermere, you will work with natural beeswax and seasonal materials to create a collection of handmade candles to take home or gift.

We begin by exploring how bees produce and use beeswax within the hive, before moving into the candle-making session.

You will create both rolled and poured beeswax candles, decorated with seasonal botanicals and festive natural materials gathered from the farm. Each piece can be personalised, making them perfect for gifting or adding a handmade touch to your home at Christmas.

During the workshop we pause for a festive break, enjoying mulled wine, hot drinks, home-grown herbal teas, and homemade mince pies.

All materials are provided, and no previous experience is necessary.

We recommend bringing an apron to protect clothing from wax.

By the end of the workshop, you will leave with a beautiful collection of handmade beeswax candles and the calm satisfaction of having created something meaningful during the busy festive season.

Christmas workshops are held on selected dates in the run-up to December.

Dates are released in early autumn, and places are limited due to small group sizes.
